5 Actors from Stranger Things Who Are Also Musicians

Stranger Things didn’t just introduce us to a new generation of actors. It also revealed a group of creatives who move between screen and stage. From indie bands to solo projects, these cast members are building real music careers alongside their acting work.

Here are five Stranger Things actors who are also musicians:

  • Finn Wolfhard

Music has always been part of Finn’s universe. He first fronted the garage-rock band Calpurnia, releasing the EP Scout in 2018. After the band split, he went solo, dropping the album Happy Birthday (2025), leaning into indie rock, folk, and introspective songwriting.

  • Joe Keery

With the band Djo, Joe Keery has quietly built one of the most solid music careers to come out of the Stranger Things cast. His albums Twenty Twenty (2019) and DECIDE (2022) blend psychedelic pop, synth-heavy alt, and emotional writing. Tracks like “End of Beginning” pushed his project far beyond the TV universe and into global streaming territory. We photographed his most recent tour stop in Paris, supporting their latest album The Crux (2025).

  • Maya Hawke

Maya Hawke’s music feels intimate and literary. Since her debut Blush (2020), followed by Moss (2022) and Chaos Angel (2024), she’s created a space in indie folk and alternative pop. Her songwriting leans into vulnerability, relationships, and quiet self-reflection.

  • Jamie Campbell Bower

Known to Stranger Things fans as Vecna, Jamie has long been involved in music. He was the frontman of the UK punk-rock band Counterfeit, which released the album Together We Are Stronger in 2017 and toured extensively before going on hiatus. In 2024, he returned with his solo album The Panic Years, a dark, emotionally raw project that dives into mental health, addiction, and recovery.

  • Charlie Heaton

Charlie Heaton was a musician before he was an actor. He plays drums for the London-based psychedelic rock band Comanechi, rooted in the UK underground scene and known for its gritty, experimental edge.
