5 places that celebrate music legends

Is there anything a fangirl loves more than having a favorite spot in the world connected to her favorite artist? Over the years, places have been created to honor both living and late artists, becoming almost like temples or safe spaces where fans can celebrate their music, stories and legacy.

We chose five of our favorites and here’s the list:

• John Lennon Wall - John Lennon:

  📍 Prague, Czech Republic · 1980

  What started as a small memorial for John Lennon after his death gradually became a wall covered with Beatles lyrics, drawings and messages of peace. Today, fans and visitors continue adding their own messages and artwork to the wall.

• Billie Eilish Wall - Billie Eilish:

  📍 Berlin, Germany · 2019

  The spot became associated with Billie after she was photographed there in 2019, near the Warschauer Bridge. Fans began visiting the location, leaving messages and taking photos. In 2024, Billie returned to the spot and left a signed message on the wall.

• Freddie Mercury Statue - Freddie Mercury:

  📍 Montreux, Switzerland · 1996

  Created by sculptor Irena Sedlecká, the three-metre bronze statue was put up in 1996 by Lake Geneva. It became a special place for Queen fans, who leave flowers, letters, photos and messages there.

• Prince Mural - Prince:

  📍 Minneapolis, USA · 2016

  Created by Minneapolis artist Rock “Cyfi” Martinez shortly after Prince’s death, the mural was made as a tribute to the artist and his connection to the city. Fans continue to visit the mural to remember and celebrate Prince’s legacy. still personally considers herself a Hufflepuff.

• David Bowie Mural - David Bowie:

  📍 Brixton, London · 2013

  Created by Australian street artist James Cochran, also known as Jimmy C, the mural was painted in Brixton, where Bowie was born. After his death in 2016, fans gathered at the mural and left flowers and other tributes, turning it into an unofficial shrine.
