There’s nothing we love more than multitalented artists, those rare, magnetic souls who seem to create effortlessly while inviting us into their world. This week’s In The Spotlight turns its attention to one of these captivating rising names: Myla, a french artist whose presence feels both intimate and undeniably powerful.
If you’ve spent any time on TikTok, you might have already heard her voice, perhaps without even realizing it. That’s exactly what makes her story so compelling. After a brief conversation with the artist, we decided to step inside her universe and open the door for you.
Born in the suburbs of Paris, Myla’s relationship with music began at a very young age. Growing up in a family of musicians, sound and creativity were always part of her environment. Yet, it wasn’t until she was around 17 or 18 that she began composing her own music, a moment that would quietly shape everything that followed.
Between 2020 and 2021, she started posting videos on TikTok, initially sharing her daily life and creating content purely for fun. But her natural charisma and authenticity quickly resonated. What began casually evolved into something much bigger: today, Myla has built a deeply connected community of over one million followers.
More than numbers, however, what defines her journey is intention. Myla has always wanted her audience, lovingly called “myluvs”, to feel seen, understood, and part of something meaningful. That same philosophy is at the heart of her new EP, Sick of Nostalgia, released on April 23.
This project feels especially intimate, not only because of its themes, but because of how it came to life. Sick of Nostalgia was quite literally born in her room. Unlike the traditional studio-driven process many artists rely on, Myla prefers to create in her own space, a place where she feels safe, connected, and creatively free. The EP, composed of 8 tracks, reflects that closeness. Among them, her favorite one, Summer Night.
The inspiration behind the EP is deeply personal. It draws from the past two years of her life and it's a mix of emotions, experiences, and thoughts that shaped her inner world. The title itself, Sick of Nostalgia, expresses that push and pull between nostalgia and growth. In many ways, the project feels like a journey, not just through her experiences, but through who she is.
At the age of 22, Myla embraces both her artistry and her fan perspective. She’s a fangirl just like the rest of us and she considers Ariana Grande as her ultimate diva and guiding inspiration. She also sees a reflection of herself in Addison Rae, particularly in the way she built her career through TikTok and transformed a digital presence into a credible artistic path. It’s a trajectory Myla deeply relates to, respects and hopes to follow.
Beyond music, cinema and fashion play a significant role in her creative vision. Both serve as powerful mediums that allow her to feel, explore, to experience multiple emotions at once and translate them into her art.
And of course, it’s impossible not to mention the tracks that recently went viral on TikTok, You Broke My Heart and Under the Same Moon, both deeply emotional and intimate. With thousands of streams across platforms and countless reinterpretations, these songs highlight not only her growing reach but also the strength of her vocal identity. There’s something undeniably unique about her voice highlighting the immense potential she carries.
Myla is an artist who creates within her own world and invites others to step into it. TikTok gave her a community, while music gave her a space to build and express whatever she envisions. And at the end of the day, that’s exactly what she hopes to do: connect people, make them feel safe, and remind them that they’re not alone and somewhere, someone else understands.
To continue this exciting new chapter in her career, Myla has announced her very first headline tour in France, set to begin at the end of October, marking an important step in her artistic journey. Make sure to grab your tickets here and be part of this moment.
And if this is only the beginning, we can’t wait to see where her world takes us next.
