Inji is a 25-year-old Turkish singer and songwriter now based in New York City, whose relationship with music started at a very young age through piano lessons. Later in her life, while she was in university, she began singing in jazz bands. For her, music has always been experimental, especially because she was never really into pop or mainstream music, which made her journey feel very free, allowing her to truly experiment and create what felt right.
Music became like anesthesia in the middle of the stressful routine she had between college and work. Inji has always loved clubbing and DJing, and we can definitely feel that playful and unique touch in her music.
Everything changed for Inji in 2022, when her songs “Bellydancing” and “Gaslight”, which was the very first track she ever released, went viral on TikTok. At the time, all we could see were videos blowing up on our For You Pages using her sound. Since then, Inji has completely focused on her music career.
2025 was a big year for Inji, with performances at major festivals such as Lollapalooza Paris, Lollapalooza Germany, Osheaga and Outside Lands in San Francisco, California. Also in that year, she released Superlame, her debut mixtape, as she calls it. She chose to label it a mixtape rather than a debut album because she wants her first album to be “phenomenal,” and she’s still working on it.
Talking about Superlame, it is loud, fast, and chaotic, speaking directly to Gen Z. With 12 tracks, the mixtape proves that experimenting with music is definitely the moment. At the end of 2025, she announced her first headline tour, passing through cities such as Paris, Berlin, London, and Amsterdam in Europe, as well as the US, New Zealand, and Australia.
Inji has worked with producers and songwriters like Vadakin and Zhone, and she also remixed Demi Lovato’s track “Here All Night.”
She draws musical inspiration from Rosalía and Charli XCX, especially from the “Brat revolution” in the music industry, and looks up to artists like Doechii and Chappell Roan in terms of career trajectory. This reflects her understanding that the “I made it” moment takes time, but she’s definitely on the right path.
