Stella Rose Bennett, known as Benee, is a singer and songwriter from Auckland, New Zealand. She started making music in 2017 by posting covers on SoundCloud. In just a few years, her voice caught people’s attention around the world.
In 2020, Benee became a global sensation thanks to her song “Supalonely”, which went viral on TikTok. She dominated the platform and her song quickly became one of the most played tracks of that year, with over 250 million streams and almost 7 billion plays in just one month. Many TikTok creators used her song in their videos, such as Charli D’Amelio and Emma Chamberlain. At a time when the world was stuck at home, Benee’s music gave people something fun and emotional to hold on to, becoming the voice of pandemic.
Also in 2020, she released her first album “Hey u x,” with collaborations from big names like Lily Allen, Grimes, Mallrat, Flo Milli, and Gus Dapperton. Benee had already opened a show for Lily Allen in Auckland back in 2019, and that was just the beginning of her success.
